Tofu Nuggets
Nuggets do not always need to be chicken to be delicious and addictive. These tofu nuggets are just the right amount of crispy, and the right amount of tasty to satisfy all your chicken nugget cravings, with absolutely no meat!
You can make these in batches and freeze them for later. Simply reheat as and when required.

INGREDIENTS :
- 250g tofu block, pressed and drained of liquid
(For the batter) - 2 tbsp cornflour/ corn starch
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 4 tbsp water
(For the breading)
- ½ cup bread crumbs
- 1 tsp red chili powder (or to taste)
- 1 tsp grounded black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- A pinch of salt
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
INSTRUCTIONS :
- Press down the tofu with a paper towel to remove the excess water.
- Cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes.
- In a small mixing bowl, add the cornflour, all-purpose flour, and water. Stir well to make a lump-free batter.
- In a shallow dish, add the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, chili powder, onion powder, seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.
- Take each tofu piece and dip it in the flour batter and then toss it into the breading mixture.
Repeat this step by dipping it back into the batter and again in the breading mixture, double coating each tofu. - You can either bake in the oven or pan-fry the tofu.
Bake in a pre-heated oven at 375 degrees F for 10 minutes, flip to the other side and bake again for 10 minutes.
To pan-fry, heat 2-3 tbsp of oil in a pan. Add the tofu and cook on medium heat for 4-5 minutes on each side. - Serve with barbecue sauce, hot mustard, or any other preferred dipping.
